With Josh Freeman dealing with concussion issues, Christian Ponder will get another chance as the Vikings starting quarterback Sunday night against the Green Bay Packers.
"It's an opportunity to get back in the saddle and be more vocal and take ahold of this position," Ponder said on Wednesday after practice, "because I don't want to give it back."
Ponder has thrown just 2 touchdown passes this year and said he put too much pressure on himself at the start of the season. Getting benched for the last two games has also given Ponder a fresh look at the game.
"Now is the opportunity to take that deep breath and go out and have fun again," Ponder said. "I already got benched, so it can't get worse than that."
