Despite its grand-sounding name, you would be hard pressed to find Holmes City, Minn. on a map. It is a very, very small community of just 34 people and 36 dogs, according to the residents.
But Holmes City has always had at least one store, until now.
After 150 years the only remaining retail establishment in this tiny, little town is about to close.
The problem is that the owners of "Blades Store" Orlin and Lavalle Blade are getting too old to work the long hours needed to keep local citizens supplied with gas, groceries and postal services.
The Blade's have advertised the business for sale, but there are few interested in taking on the ancient premises and the dwindling clientele.
The price, if you are interested, is about $240,000.
