I am a huge fan of “The Friday the 13th” series.  I grew up watching all of the films and still watch them today.

The first “Friday the 13th” I saw was part three in a Super 8 Motel in the Wisconsin Dells.  I had never seen anything like it before and was immediately fascinated with the guy in the hockey mask.  Who was he?  Where did he come from?  I wanted to see more.  It just so happened that “Friday the 13th IV: The Final Chapter” was released that week, but I was too young to see it in the theater, so I didn’t see it until it came out on video.

Over the years books, movies and television specials have been produced about the “Friday the 13th” movies, but none of them has been as amazing as 1428 film’s “Crystal Lake Memories: The Complete History of Friday The 13th.”

“Crystal Lake Memories” is absolutely the best documentary you will ever see on the “Friday the 13th” series.  It is amazing and will have every horror and Friday the 13th fan screaming in excitement.

“Crystal Lake Memories” is written and directed by Daniel Farrands and produced by Thommy Huston.

There is a DVD two-disc set and a Blu-Ray two-disc set that you can buy, and they contain more than 420 minutes of interviews and never-before-seen pictures and videos.

Each “Friday the 13th” movie is a chapter on the DVD, and that’s really nice, because if you want to hear all about “Friday the 13th IV: The Final Chapter” then you can just jump to that.

“Crystal Lake Memories” is narrated by Corey Feldman who played Tommy Jarvis in “Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter.”  I thought he did an excellent job and made watching the film very entertaining.

Every “Friday the 13th” movie is discussed in great detail.  It also features the directors like Sean Cunningham and Joseph Zito talking about directing the films.  There are also a ton of interviews with the actors who were in the movies and you get to hear their stories about making the “Friday the 13th” movies.  Some of the actors have never appeared on camera before, so that was really exciting to see.

The DVD’s feature all ten "Friday the 13th" movies, plus “Jason vs. Freddy, ““Friday the 13th” remake, and even “The Friday the 13th” television series.

There is an awesome audio commentary with Daniel Farrands, Peter Bracke who is the author of the book “Crystal Lake Memories” and editor Luke Rafalowski.  I thought that this was very entertaining and also very interesting. The audio commentary is on both DVDs, and I really enjoyed listening to all of the stories about the making of “Crystal Lake Memories.”

Another bonus feature on “Crystal Lake Memories” is that there are trailers for other films that 1428 Films have produced such as “Never Sleep Again” which is a documentary on the “A Nightmare on Elm Street” series and “Get More Brains” which is a documentary on “Return of the Living Dead.”

“Crystal Lake Memories” is the ultimate DVD for fans of the franchise and for horror fans.

Overall, I absolutely loved “Crystal Lake Memories: The Complete History of Friday the 13th.”  In my opinion, it is the most detailed documentary you will ever see on “The Friday the 13th” series.  I really enjoyed watching all of the interviews and learning all about each “Friday the 13th” movie.  If you are a horror movie fan or a fan of “The Friday the 13th” movies, then this is a DVD you have to buy.
