A new statewide study by St. Paul-based Wilder Foundation found 17 percent of women drank while pregnant.
Of that group, 71 percent of the women drank on average one or more days a week.
Those numbers could explain why more than 8,000 babies are born each year with prenatal alcohol exposure.
Emily Gunderson with The Minnesota Organization on Fetal Alcohol Syndrome stopped by KSTP to discuss the new study.
