Bruce More is every inch the cowboy.

He was a champion rodeo competitor when he was younger, but these days, the 53-year-old confines his riding to a turn around his rural property near Blue Earth, Minn.

This is a man who knows horses, and he uses his lifelong knowledge to make some of the finest leather saddles, harnesses, chaps and spurs to be found anywhere in the country.

Bruce is a man of few words. Every day, always wearing his black cowboy hat, he walks the few yards from the front door of his house to his western-style workshop.

There, alone, he creates works of art from top quality leather he has shipped in from one of the few tanneries that still produces the supple, unblemished, raw material he needs.

Bruce More is one of only a handful of leather craftsmen left who can make saddles and tack custom fit for both horse and rider.

It's no surprise that horse owners from all over the United States bring their business to this talented man who has worked quietly away in a little corner of southwestern Minnesota.
