Minnesota Legislative Auditor James Nobles expressed candid concerns about how quickly MNsure is being implemented.

MNsure, the state's newest health insurance program, has not even sold one policy yet but is already under investigation by the Legislative Auditor's Office.

Last week, hundreds of names and private information were inadvertently released by a MNsure employee; just prior to that, the MNsure Board of Directors was criticized for not including minorities in its outreach program for federal grants. Within two days, MNsure found $750,000 to fix that mistake.

Given those two embarrassing instances, Nobles tells 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS that he thinks "MNsure, without adequate testing and securing, is moving too fast." Nobles acknowledged his office is investigating the breach of security at MNsure and says, "I really didn't think we would be looking into MNsure this soon."

MNsure is designed to go online by Oct. 1 and will help nearly a half-million uninsured Minnesotans obtain health insurance by the Jan. 1 deadline imposed by the federal government.
