Metro-area families interested in online school options are being offered free admission to the Science Museum of Minnesota as part of “Discovery Day.”

From 12-2:30 p.m. on Aug. 16, the museum is teaming up with K12 Inc. virtual schools to teach families about online schools in Minnesota while getting kids interested in learning. More than 500 families are registered to attend.

Three of the largest online schools will be at the museum with representatives to answer questions families might have. The programs include Minnesota Virtual Academy, iQ Academy and Insight School of Minnesota.

This event will allow families to also meet others who are already in the online academies and other prospective students.
