Around Town: Guthrie, Concerts, Movies
There's always plenty of events going on around town in the Twin Cities, and KSTP's Rusty Gatenby has the inside scoop on what's hot for this weekend.
To celebrate the 200th anniversary of Jane Austen's "Pride and Prejudice," the Guthrie is putting on a family-friendly show this weekend. The production features Minnesota native and "Mad Men" star, Vincent Kartheiser. The show runs now through August.
Target Field is playing host to the Skyline Music Festival on Friday night. This is the third time the ballpark is hosting a music event and it's going to be filled with sounds of the 90s. The Festival features "The LP Tour" with Soul Asylum, Big Head Todd and the Monsters and Matthew Sweet with special guest Gear Daddies.
Brian Wilson will also be rocking the stage at the Minnesota Zoo on Friday night. The co-founder of the Beach Boys will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are sold out.
One of the new movies of the summer is "Red 2." Bruce Willis and Helen Mirren star in the action-packed film about a retired C.I.A. agent that must try to recover a missing portable nuclear device.
