2009 Military Credit for Thousands of Minn. Soldiers Set to Expire

The Minnesota Department of Revenue is encouraging thousands of Minn. troops and veterans to take advantage of a refundable tax credit. There are still 2,200 Minnesotans who haven't filed.

The Credit for Military Service in a Combat Zone is set to expire Oct. 15 for time served in 2009. The tax credit is for soldiers who served in a combat zone or qualified hazardous duty area in 2009.

The tax credit is $120 for each month served during 2009.

Soldiers must file this form to receive the tax credit. Applications must be postmarked or turned in by Oct. 15.
