Police are investigating the death of a 4-year-old in Burnsville.

Officers were called at 5 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, to a home on the 30 block of Horizon Heights in Burnsville on a report of a child having medical problems, according to Burnsville police. Upon arrival, paramedics found the child dead at the scene.

Officers on Tuesday arrested 24-year-old William Alphonso Warr near the scene for allegedly violating a restraining order prohibiting him from being at the home.

Warr was charged Thursday in Dakota County District Court on a charges of violation of an order for protection, criminal damage to property, fleeing an officer, providing false information to police and driving after revocation.

As of Thursday, Warr was being held at the Dakota County Jail in Hastings. His bail was set at $50,000 without conditions. His next court appearance is scheduled for July 2.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office and Burnsville police are investigating the cause of the boy's death. Police believe the incident was an isolated domestic situation.

There appears to be no threat to the community, according to police.

Police did not reveal Thursday the child's gender. Sgt. Rory Bochniak said police were not releasing further information regarding the child and the death investigation.
