Rush to Get Boats On Minn. Lakes Has Begun
The rush is on to get boats on metro area lakes. Winter's late retreat has cut down on the number of days normally used to get boats ready and on the water.
Emily Fabio is the Manager at Howard's Point Marina. She says she welcomes the start of the boating season, better late than never. "It's been a slow spring and I think that everyone is waiting for it to become that 'zoo' we know it can be in the summertime. That's when we do our best, and that's what we like."
Skipp LaJoy is the Manager at Tonka Bay Marina, he says with the sunshine and warm temps Monday, the phone has been ringing with customers eager to get the season started, " I would imagine we'll have 20 calls, somewhere around 20 to 30 calls."
