St. Paul Musicians Agree to Mail Votes for Union Contract
The St. Paul Chamber Orchestra and its musicians announced Saturday that they will use a U.S. mail option to decide on ratifying a proposed contract.
The move would enable further clarification of language in the proposal and would allow all musicians in the union to vote, the group reported.
Musicians ratified the American Federation of Musicians Integrated Media Agreement and its addendum on Saturday. Both were negotiated for the orchestra.
The orchestra's musicians union has been locked out for more than 24 weeks. Their contract expired September 2012. Management imposed the lockout in October.
