Mid-March Snow Keeps Some Minn. Ski Spots Open

While a mid-March snowstorm caused problems for some Minnesotans Monday, there's good news for winter enthusiasts.

Ski resorts across the state are still open, when they would otherwise be closing-up for the season.

Afton Alps will stay open through the end of March. The seasons at Hyland and Powder Ridge are extended through Sunday.

Mount Kato has ended its snow tubing, but will keep its ski hills open.

The storm brought more than 5 inches of snow to Alexandria. Long Prairie got 4 inches, Mora got 3 inches and Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport recorded just over 3 inches.
