Mpls. Firefighter Killed in 1927 Honored Thursday
Firefighters around the state took time Thursday to honor those killed in the line of duty. That includes a special honor for one killed 85 years ago.
The Minnesota Fire Service Foundation presented a flag to Tim McGuire in honor of his grandfather, James McGuire. He died Sept. 30, 1927 while responding to a call with the Minneapolis Fire Department.
The ceremony is usually held in September, but due to health reasons, McGuire and his family received the honor Thursday.
