Emotional Testimony from Supporters of Anti-Bullying Bill

Dozens gathered at the state capitol to support the newly introduced anti-bullying bill.

Parents and children shared painful stories of bullying during a House Education Committee hearing.

The legislation was introduced earlier this month, calling for Minnesota school districts to adopt strict policies keeping students safe. It would require them to develop comprehensive protection plans, and to investigate all reports of bullying.

The bill's author is Sen. Scott Dibble (DFL-Minneapolis). At 37 words long, Minnesota's anti-bullying law is widely considered one of the weakest in the nation.
