STUDY: A Third of Seafood is Mislabeled

A new study found that a third of the seafood we buy is mislabeled.

Between 2010 and 2012, the Environmental advocacy group, Oceana, collected more than 1,200 seafood DNA samples from grocery stores, restaurants and sushi venues in 21 states.

According to the study, the most commonly mislabeled fish was snapper. It was usually rockfish or tilapia. Tuna had the next highest mislabeled rate.
