Number of C-Sections on the Rise in Minn.

The number of women in Minnesota having Cesarean sections is up.
In 1996, 17 percent of babies in Minnesota were delivered by C-Section, with 26 percent of babies delivered by C-Section by 2007.
The numbers come from the Minnesota community measurement healthcare quality report, which is made up of health care systems and insurance providers.
C-Section rates are a new addition to the report. The hope is that having the numbers out there will help create conversations about the operation.
