Woman Swims with Sharks to Bring Attention to Population
A young woman is taking her message about one of the most feared animals on Earth to an extreme.
Ocean Ramsey is swimming with the great white sharks. She doesn't use a shark cage or scuba gear.
She released video last week on YouTube showing her swimming alongside a shark, even touching its skin with her her bare hands and holding on to its fin.
Ramsey is a scuba instructor, conservationist and advanced free diver in Hawaii. She can hold her breath for five minutes and 45 seconds.
She says it's all about bringing attention to the dwindling shark population.
Experts estimate there are fewer than 350 great white sharks left along the Pacific coast.
