EmailWEB EXTRA: U of M Professor Talks Asteroids, Meteors
KSTP.com's Leslie Dyste spoke with U of M astronomy professor Lawrence Rudnick after two events of objects nearing earth on the same day.
In the first event Friday a meteor exploded above Russia's Ural Mountains, injuring more than 1,000 people.
In the second event an asteroid, which is half the size of a football field, passed within 17,000 miles of earth.
