Governor Mark Dayton's Homeland Security and Emergency Management conference will feature some guests who have gone through disasters.

A person who experienced the 2011 Fukushima nuclear plant incident caused by an earthquake and tsunami first hand is scheduled to speak.

Another speaker will talk about the deadly tornado in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

The goal of the conference is to make sure Minnesota is prepared for emergencies and disasters.

Dayton will offer brief remarks at 8:30 a.m. today at Earle Brown Heritage Center in Brooklyn Center.
