Minnetonka Fire Chief to Retire After 19 Years of Leading Dept.

After Leader the Minnetonka Fire Department for 19 years, Chief Joe Wallin announced his retirement this week.

Chief Wallin has been with the department since 1985. He went full time in 1990 as fire inspector and then was promoted to the chief position in 1994.

His last day will be March 31st, 2013.

Chief Wallin said he plans to spend time with his family and enjoy the outdoors.

The city has started a regional search his replacement.
