Immigration Attorneys Flooded with Calls Due to Immigration Reform Debate

With immigration reform a political priority, local immigration attorneys say they've been flooded with calls.

Minneapolis-based immigration lawyer, Herbert Igbanugo of Igbanugo International Law Firm, says those who would be most affected are those currently protected from deportation under the Dream Act.

So-called "dreamers" would go to the "front of the line," Igbanugo explains.

In other words, those given high priority would include young people who were brought to the U.S. as children, speak good English, were educated in American schools and who have no criminal record.

Igbanugo explains, "They're not farm workers. Most of them have high school educations, are like American citizens, speak like American citizens, they're whole behavior.. they're whole outlook on life is as if they were born in this country."
