INTERVIEW: Human Trafficking Awareness Month

Every year, up to 800,000 people worldwide – mostly girls and women – become the victims of human trafficking.

Close to home, there were nearly 600 reports of sex trafficking in Minnesota and more than 50 reports of labor trafficking.

This month is Human Trafficking Awareness Month, and a local store is trying to raise awareness and money by selling bracelets that were created by victims.

Kristine Hass with Apricot Lane joined 5 EYEWITNESS News Thursday morning to talk about the cause. Watch the interview here.
