St. Paul Sees Economic Boost Over Cold Weekend

Hundreds of thousands of people flocked to the city of St. Paul to participate in the Winter Carnival and watch the Red Bull Crashed Ice Championships over the weekend.

"It's great that we get a boost in the economy, people coming down and spending it, but mostly I just want people to have fun!" said St. Paul mayor Chris Coleman.

The weather made spending hours outside a bit of a challenge. Even pets are bundling up in these temperatures.

"You've just got to layer. Layer and move around," said Nissa Tupper.

"Stop in, grab a bite to eat," said Mayor Coleman. "Grab a beer, whatever it takes, and contribute to the economy of Saint Paul."

"We always like the food trucks," said Tupper.

Between the two events, well over 20 million dollars were pumped into the city over the weekend.

"Enjoy it! We're in Minnesota for a reason. We like the cold," said Tupper.
