Lonnie Dupre Abandons Mt. McKinley Climb

Minnesota explorer Lonnie Dupre is coming back down Alaska’s Mount McKinley. He’s abandoning his third attempt to become the first man to climb it in January.

Dupre said it was impossible to build a safe snow cave to stay warm, and windchills reached -50.

Poor weather conditions forced him to turn back on his two previous tries.
