Coon Rapids Police Dept. Launches Online Crime Map

The Coon Rapids Police Department is cracking down on crime through new technology.  

The city’s website now has a crime map containing reported crimes at coonrapidsmn.gov/police/crimemapping.htm. The crimes reported on the map are felony-level FBI UCR Part I crimes, excluding sex offenses, according to the city.

Residents can also sign up for crime alerts near their location, email crime tips to police, and download a mobile app for iPhones and iPads.

Beginning in February, the department will launch more in-depth crime analysis software so police can analyze crime trends in the region.
