Spokesman: Target's Neiman Marcus Collection Had Missteps

Target officials admit that their Neiman Marcus collection was more of a bust than a boom.

A spokesman says there were several missteps with the collection, which featured clothes and accessories from top designers. It was priced too high, stores had too much inventory, and it launched in December – a time when shoppers are looking for holiday bargains.

Target is now shifting its focus to a new spring collection by Kate Young, a stylist to Natalie Portman and other celebrities. It will launch in mid-April.
