Multi-Million Dollar Project to Offer Housing for Homeless Vets

A new ten million dollar project hopes to provide housing for homeless Minnesota veterans. The VA is teaming up with Common Bond Communities to turn vacant century-old buildings at Fort Snelling into homes for vets and their families.

A public meeting on the project was held Wednesday at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center. The project was will provide 58 rehabbed units in five buildings that once served as horse stables for the American Cavalry.

The project should be completed by next summer, it's part of the VA's goal to end vet homelessness by 2015.
