Timeline Released for New Vikings Stadium
The new Vikings stadium is becoming closer to reality.
The Minnesota Sports Facilities Authorities released an updated timeline Friday. And the good news is everything is on par with the original plan.
- On January 23rd the group will interview the construction firms offering proposals.
- A selection is expected to be made the first week of February.
- Once a firm is in place we'll start seeing designs for the new stadium. Those are expected this coming spring.
- A groundbreaking is slated for fall of 2013.
The Sports Facilities Authority said they have complete confidence in the revenue coming from electronic pull tabs, despite the numbers we've been seeing from the state.
Revenue from the pull tabs was originally projected at $34-million dollars for 2012. But that came in around just $16 million.
The state projected 300 establishments would have electronic pull tabs by now. Instead, the number is 120.
The Sports Authority says they expect everything to even out.
