Study: Migraines with Aura Could Indicate Heart Problems

A new study finds that women who have migraines with aura, meaning they’re bothered by something visually like flashing lights, may be more likely to have problems with their heart and blood vessels.

After researching thousands of women, results show migraines with aura was the second strongest single contributor to risk of heart attacks and stroke -- ahead of diabetes, smoking, and obesity.

High blood pressure still is the strongest single contributor.
