Mpls. Resident Chosen to Create State Fair Commemorative Art
A local artist’s work has been chosen to be the 2013 Minnesota State Fair Commemorative Art.
Minneapolis resident Marie Olofsdotter was selected from more than 30 artists to create the official artwork for the Great Minnesota Get Together. The work will be unveiled at the state fairgrounds in June.
Olofsdotter was born and raised in Sweden and is a maskmaker, performer, author, illustrator, creative consultant, and teacher.
The work represents the chosen artist’s visual interpretation of the Great Minnesota Get Together. Last year, St. Paul resident Joe Heffron was chosen from nearly 50 applicants.
