Minneapolis Police Welcome 13 New Recruits
Minneapolis officials are welcoming 13 new police recruits to the department.

The 12 men and one woman have finished their 17-week Minneapolis Police Academy training, and they will now be partnered up with seasoned police officers for field training.
All of the new recruits had previously worked for the city: 10 of them were community service officers.
With the new additions, the Minneapolis Police Department now has 840 sworn police officers.
Mayor R.T. Rybak, Chief Janee Harteau and other city officials attended a graduation ceremony Tuesday night at the Walker Art Center.
