LIST: Outdoor Ice Rink Closings Around the Twin Cities

With a highs around 40 degrees this week, some local outdoor ice rinks were closing down.

Skaters in the area might have to wait until the cold surge Sunday and later next week before lacing up.

  • Woodbury: The city's outdoor skating rinks will be closed from Friday, Jan. 11, through Sunday, Jan. 13.
     
  • Minneapolis: Ice rinks across the city are closed until weather permits. Check the website on daily rink statuses in Minneapolis.
     
  • Burnsville: All outdoor rinks and warming houses will be closed Jan. 11 and 12. Check the website for daily updates.
     
  • Bloomington: Outdoor rinks will be closed today, and staff will reevaluate the conditions Jan. 12. If you have questions, call 952-563-8878.
     
  • St. Paul: All ice rinks are closed. Visit website for updates. 
     
  • Eagan: All outdoor ice rinks are currently closed. If the staff decides to open today, it would be from 4-8 p.m. To get updates before you leave to skate, call 651-675-5511.
  • Edina: All outdoor ice rinks are closed Friday.
     
  • Falcon Heights: The ice rinks and warming house at Curtis Field at 1555 Iowa Ave. are closed this weekend due to the weather. 

Check in with your local outdoor ice rink before leaving for updated ice conditions.
