Golden Valley Woman Wins Eviction Fight

A follow-up to a story we first told you about a Golden Valley woman fighting to avoid eviction.

Rose McGee was at the Hennepin County Government Center the day after Christmas for an eviction hearing, and she got it pushed back.

Well on Thursday, she got some good news. Her mortgage company and Fannie May approached her, saying they are interested in modifying her loan.

She says it's a step in the right direction, because she says she was stuck in "dual-tracking." Her bank foreclosed on her home while she was trying to get a loan modification.
The recent news could finally bring her some relief.

"I want to win. It's come to my realization that people are depending on this win and not just for me in the future. This is a win for people who don't even know they will have this issue yet."

She has until a hearing next month to agree on a loan modification.

McGee says people with a similar problem should contact the State Attorney General.
