Gopher Hockey To Host Anchorage This Weekend

The gopher men’s hockey team takes the ice with Alaska-Anchorage Jan. 11 and 12 for its next series at home.
The gophers (14-3-3 overall, 6-3-3 WCHA) are coming off a 4-1 victory against Notre Dame Tuesday, led by Nate Condon, who scored on the first shot of the game and had a game-high two points.
Twelfth-ranked Alaska-Anchorage is on a six-game losing streak, and back in November when the two teams met, Minnesota defeated Anchorage 4-0 on the first night, and tied at two for the second.
Anchorage is led by young guns, one being team points leader Matt Bailey, who has a team high 11 points, and freshman Blake Tatchell, who also has tallied 11.
The two teams will meet at 8 p.m. Friday, and 7 p.m. Saturday at Mariucci Arena in Minneapolis.
