Gophers Hockey Beats Notre Dame

Top-ranked Minnesota jumped out to an early lead and coasted to a 4-1 win over second-ranked Notre Dame on Tuesday in men's college hockey.
Sam Warning, Nate Condon and Zach Budish each had a goal and an assist apiece as the Gophers (14-3-3) ran their unbeaten streak to six games.
Minnesota needed just 1:21 to take the lead for good, scoring on Condon's goal past a screened Steve Summerhays. Minnesota went up 2-0 on Warning's goal six minutes later.
Both Summerhays and Minnesota goalie Adam Wilcox made 22 saves.
Christian Isackson also scored for Minnesota. Budish's goal was an empty-netter in the closing seconds.
Notre Dame (14-5-0) was playing its first game in 24 days. The Fighting Irish had their six-game winning streak snapped.
