Former Mpls. Cop Convicted of Theft and Forgery

A former Minneapolis police lieutenant has been convicted of forgery and theft by swindle for stealing money from the International Association of Women Police, the Hennepin County Attorney's Office said Tuesday.

Sixty-year-old Marie Fierck Przynski of Maplewood was convicted Friday following a week-long trial. The verdict came after a jury deliberated for about four hours.

She was convicted of one count of theft by swindle and four counts of forgery, the county attorney's office says.

Przynski is scheduled to be sentenced Feb. 5 in Hennepin County District Court. State sentencing guidelines recommend probation.
