Career Criminal Sentenced to 15 Years
A career criminal was sentenced to more than 15 years in prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm and getting into a fight back in April 2011.
The Columbia Heights Police Department says 37-year-old Calvin Bankhead had a loaded pistol and got into a fight with a person on April 2, 2011. Police say Bankhead left the scene and promised to return and shoot up the place.
Bankhead then returned and started banging on the windows until one of the people involved in the fight answered the door. He fired his gun and fled the scene, and Columbia Heights police officers arrested him a short time later.
Bankhead has previously been convicted of a first-degree controlled substance crime, second degree assault, and a juvenile conviction for armed robbery.
