Study: Child Obesity Rates Drop in Some Cities

For the first time in decades, kids’ obesity rates are showing declines in some cities.

The New York Times reports the drops are small but significant because it shows the obesity epidemic may be reversing.

Obesity is down 5.5 percent in New York, 5 percent in Philadelphia, and 3 percent in Los Angeles.

It’s not clear if the drops are because fewer obese kids are entering school or if kids in school are losing weight.
