Vikings Stadium Groundbreaking Set for Oct. 2013

The groundbreaking for the new Vikings stadium is tentatively set for October 2013.

The next step is choosing a construction manager. The Sports Utility Board says they're hoping to announce that person on Jan. 25.

The $975 million stadium will be built on the site of the Metrodome in downtown Minneapolis.

The Vikings hope to open the new stadium in time for the 2016 season.
