Email17,000 Young Turkeys Die in Barn Fire Near Melrose
17,000 turkey poults were killed and a barn was completely destroyed after a fire near Melrose.
The Stearns County Sheriff's Office says the Melrose and Sauk Centre Fire Departments were called out to the barn, located at 37403 355th Ave. in Grove Township, around 4:00 a.m. Wednesday.
The property owner estimates the damage to be upwards of $500,000.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
