Irondale High School Wins School Innovation Award

Irondale High School is being recognized for its Early College program.

The high school was honored during the sixth annual Local Government Innovation Awards, which recognize creative ways that counties, cities, and schools make Minnesota better through innovation.

Irondale was named the top school winner for its Early College program among 34 other schools. The high school will go on to compete against a city and a county for the chance to win a $25,000 grant.

According to the school district, Irondale is the first Minnesota school to offer a free two-year associate degree. Mounds View High School is preparing to launch a similar program in the fall of 2013.
