Stillwater Ordinance Aims to Crack Down on Bar Fights

In baseball, it's three strikes and you're out. In Stillwater, it's going to take at least five - maybe 10. That's according to a new ordinance that hopes to crack down on bar fights in the city.

The law stems from a fight at Smalley's Pirate Bar earlier this year in which a man later died.

Tuesday night, Stillwater City Council passed a law that could eventually lead to the city taking away liquor licenses. To get to that point, the bar would need five citations. Each incident after that there will be an intervention. When the bar hits 10 incidents, the chief of police gets involved.
