Report Details Dangers of Synthetic Marijuana

The first report on the dangers of synthetic marijuana has been released.

Nationwide, more than 11,000 young people were sent to the emergency room in 2010 for fake drugs like K2 and Spice. A third of those were kids ages 12-17, and 18-24-year-olds accounted for 35 percent of the visits.

The report was done by the federal government’s Drug Abuse Warning Network.

At least 18 states, including Minnesota, have banned the substances.
