Man Faces Charges in Sexual Assault Near St. Catherine's

A convicted felon and registered sex offender is facing new charges Tuesday night.

He's accused of sexually assaulting a young woman walking near St. Catherine's University in the area of West River Parkway and 27th Avenue South.

Police arrested 48-year-old Louis Oliver of Hastings last week.

They believe he assaulted a woman at gunpoint Nov. 19.

He's now facing a charge of criminal sexual misconduct.

He made his first court appearance Tuesday where a judge set his bail at $1 million.
