Early Rising Vikings Fans Pack Bus For Pack Win at Lambeau
They piled into two tour busses at 4am, only to have their visions of Viking victory dashed.
Around 100 fans decked out in purple and gold, with a few Green Bay fans mixed in, left St. Paul for the "frozen tundra" of Lambeau field.
The tour was part of package offered by 1500 ESPN radio, where listeners could pay for a ride to the game, tickets, and tail-gating space.
Chad Johnson from Northfield was making his first trip to Green Bay for a football game, and didn't plan to flaunt his purple and gold.
Johnson said, "I don't want to get too much in the faces of Packers fans." He was wearing a plain colored coat with a gray Vikings t-shirt.
Also mong the fans, were boyfriend/girlfriend couple from Plymouth, Scott Borschke & Laura Green.
He's from the Twin Cities, she's from Eau Claire. He wisely chose to NOT make a prediction on the game when we spoke to him early this morning.
Borschke said, "It works out as well as it possibly can," then he shot us a grin.
His better half, dressed in Green quipped, "Clearly the Packers are going to take it."
Guess she was right.
Vikings lose to the Packers 23-14 and move to 6 and 6 this season.
But by all accounts, the early morning bus trip was worth it, despite the loss.
