INTERVIEW: Autism Book Author Talks How Animals Can Help

In the past 40 years, the number of kids diagnosed with autism has increased 10-fold, and one in 88 kids now are considered to have it.

A local author has devoted more than 30 years of her life teaching kids with autism.

KSTP had Kari Dunn Buron in to talk about a new book focusing on the importance that animals can have the impact on kids.

Buron said it was more than 30 years ago when they first started creating special education programs in the public schools.
