EmailSLIDESHOW: Hwy 169, 494 Interchange Project Complete
After two years of major construction, work on the 169 and 494 Interchange Project is finished.
Some of the work that was done includes the removal of the traffic lights that created traffic bottlenecks in the Southwest Metropolitan Area.
The project cost $180 million in Federal and State funding. Surrounding cities chipped in $8 million of that.
An estimated 175,000 vehicles will drive through the area on a daily basis.
The project reconstructed the interchange with six connections, connected the north and south frontage roads under Hwy 169 and installed six roundabouts.
