Poll: Majority of Americans Say Health Care isn't Gov't Responsibility

A new poll shows a majority of Americans say it’s not up to the federal government to guaranteed health care coverage.

For the first time in 12 years, a Gallup Poll found 54 percent don’t believe it’s the government’s responsibility.

In 2010, President Barack Obama’s health care plan made health insurance mandatory. In June, the Supreme Court upheld most of the president’s initiative, including allowing patients with pre-existing conditions access to insurance. It also allows anyone under 26 years old to stay on their parents’ insurance plans.
