Red Wing Volunteers Take 'Meals on Wheels' to Goodhue

This Thanksgiving two Minnesota towns, miles apart, are sharing a special bond of giving.

A fire destroyed a popular restaurant in Goodhue recently, putting a food program for seniors in jeopardy.

Doc Sawyers restaurant packed food for Meals on Wheels, but the fire forced it to close.

Seminary Home in Red Wing stepped in to help pack food for neighbors they've never met.

Liz Knapp with Seminary Home says, "We can keep them in their homes and safe and well-nourished, we can accomplish a lot with a simple meal a day."

Volunteers willingly picked up extra routes to make sure the meals are delivered to Goodhue homes.
